What do you mean by bespoke software?
A system built around how your business really runs rather than around what a product happens to support. We sit with the people who do the work, write the requirements down with you, ship a thin working version early, and grow it in scoped steps from there. When we are done you own the code in your repository, the harness that runs, tests and deploys it, and the data in systems you control, so any capable team can pick it up after us.
Why bespoke, when we could just buy an AI agent off the shelf?
You can, and plenty of the off-the-shelf agents are good now, which is exactly why deploying one is no longer the hard part. What none of them knows is how your business actually runs, like which exceptions matter, why the spreadsheet next to the ERP exists, and what your senior people decide without thinking about it. That understanding is what we bring, and the bespoke system is where it ends up, with agents built in wherever they are the right tool for a piece of the work.
Do you still offer managed agents?
Yes, as a supporting option rather than the main thing we sell. Some clients want agents working inside the systems they already have, and some want us to keep running what we built for them, so we offer managed agent packages with an implementation fee and a monthly retainer that covers monitoring, maintenance and improvement. The packages and their figures are on the pricing page, and whatever we run for you stays yours.
How do you price a bespoke build?
After the requirements are written, not before, because we have no honest way to know what your system costs until we understand what it has to do. Every engagement starts with the Service Layer Diagnostic, a two week fixed fee engagement that ends with a fixed scope and a fixed quote, and the fee is credited against any build signed within 60 days. Every step after the first is scoped and quoted before it starts.
Our main system is old. Can this even connect to it?
Usually yes, and this is where a bespoke build differs from off-the-shelf AI tools, which can usually only reach systems already exposed to the internet with a modern API. We can run the system inside your network, so it can read the ERP on the server in the back room, the database behind a home-grown tool, or a scheduled export the system already produces. Our working rule is that if someone on your team can get to it, we can usually build the system a way to get to it, and we confirm that during the Diagnostic before anyone commits to a build.
Doesn't the AI built into our CRM or office suite already do this?
Those tools are good inside their own world, but most real businesses run on a mix of Slack, email, a CRM, an inventory system and a lot of knowledge that lives in people's heads, and platform tools do not cross those boundaries well. A bespoke system is built to work across all of it and handle the whole job, which is why a business that already pays for those built-in tools can still need one.
How do you keep the system from getting things wrong?
The rules are written into the requirements before anything is built, so the system works from your approved data and your own tools rather than the open internet, and anything important, like pricing, commitments or technical claims, can go to a person for approval first. Because you own the harness that tests the system, those rules are checked every time it changes, not just on the day it launches.
Can't we just build it ourselves?
You can, and if you have the team for it we will tell you so. In my experience the hard part is not writing the code, it is understanding the work well enough to know what to build, and keeping it working when a new product, a new person or a new tool shows up. That understanding, written down and turned into a tested system you own, is what you get from us, and since you own the code and the harness, your own team can take it over whenever you are ready.
